Golf Courses: Formosa Golf Resort - Auckland

The Formosa Golf Resort is surrounded by lush farmland and stunning views over the Hauraki Gulf. It is about 45 mins from downtown Auckland.
The course was designed by golfing legend Sir Bob Charles and is modeled on the Augusta National, home of the US Masters. Formosa Golf Resort is listed in 'The Finest Golf Clubs of the World' and was the venue for the 1998 New Zealand Open.

From its cliff top and coastal fairways, the course has panoramic views of Waiheke Island, Rangitoto and the distant Coromandel Peninsula. With hundreds of native trees lining the fairways, Formosa is a picturesque challenge of golf. Almost all holes have a beautiful north facing view of the Hauraki Gulf.
Formosa Golf Resort course covers an area of 440 acres, making it one of New Zealand's longest championship courses at 6650 metres off the Pro (Black) Tees. There are 4 tees per hole: forward, regular, championship, and professional; so that everyone can play and enjoy the course.
